Abstract: |
Soil water is the material basis for plant survival, growth and development. It not only determines the distribution pattern of vegetation, but also has an important impact on the yield and quality of crops. Nevertheless, the problem of water shortage has become an important factor restricting the sustainable development of agriculture, especially in arid and semi-arid areas. Biochar, because of its special pore structure and fertility characteristics, plays an important significance effect in improving soil moisture, enhancing soil fertility, promoting crop growth and increasing yield. The preparation of biochar from various organic materials (including straw, trucks or branches, dung, production and domestic) and its application in agriculture has attracted much attention. However, due to the different types of biochar, particle size, pyrolysis temperature, application amount and type of soil applied. The effects of adding biochar soil water condition, soil hydrodynamics parameters, soil evaporation and plant transpiration, water use efficiency, crop growth and yield are quite different, which limits the extensive application of biochar in agriculture production and soil amelioration. Thus, in order to deeply understand the impact of biochar application on soil water conditions, the responses of biochar adding on soil hydrodynamics parameters, soil water content, evapotranspiration and water use efficiency were reviewed in this article. Then, with a view of providing reference for biochar to better serve soil improvement and agriculture production, the interrelationship between biochar application and soil water conditions research was prospected. Including suitable types and amount of biochar under different soil types and vegetation conditions; the application of biochar in high efficiency water saving agriculture; long-term eco-hydrological effects of biochar after it’s returned to the field; application of biochar in arid and semi-arid areas, especially in ecologically fragile areas. At the same time, in-depth understanding and understanding the effect of biochar application on soil moisture can provide theoretical basis for the efficiency utilization of farmland water and fertilizer, vegetation restoration and ecological environment construction. |
