Abstract: 【Objective】In order to evaluate the quality of the regional ecological environment and the evolution process of the ecological environment, it can be achieved by monitoring the temporal and spatial changes of vegetation coverage in different periods. 【Method】Based on Landsat remote sensing image data, the spatial-temporal evolution of vegetation cover in Shule County was analyzed using normalized vegetation index NDVI, pixel dichotomy model, and center migration model. 【Result】The results show: (1) The overall vegetation cover distribution in Shule County is mainly a high-vegetation coverage in a large area, and the middle and low coverage are mainly distributed along the Gaizi River and the Kezihe River, which are relatively scattered around the high vegetation coverage; (2) Over the past 22 years, the vegetation coverage and coverage in Shule County have both increased. The area covered by vegetation in 2017 increased by 456.4 km2 over 1996, an increase rate of 38.3%;(3) There are some regional and temporal differences in the spatial variation of vegetation cover in Shule County. Regionally, the increase in coverage of towns and villages in the south has increased significantly; during the period, the area of vegetation cover increased most significantly from 2009 to 2013;(4) In the past 22 years, the entire vegetation cover center of Shule County moved to the southeast; (5) Climate warming has a certain indirect impact on the change of vegetation coverage in Shule County, but the impact of human activities is the most direct. Among them, the most important factors for the improvement of irrigation coverage include efficient water conservation, cultivated land reclamation, crop planting, and increase in forest belt area. At the same time that vegetation has increased, water consumption in agricultural irrigation areas has also increased, causing a reduction in the area of regional water bodies and posing a certain threat to regional sustainable development. 【Conclusion】In summary, human activity factors such as climate warming and ecological treatment projects may be the main reasons for the increase in vegetation coverage and coverage in Shule County, which indicates that the ecological environment protection and management of Shule County are scientific and reasonable. |
