| Abstract: |
| 【Objective】This article presented an analysis of the multiple spatial and temporal characteristics of droughts in Inner Mongolia according to the climate database at 50 meteorological stations for the period of 1951–2018.【Method】For this purpose, drought was quantified by the inter-monthly means of the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI).【Result】An abrupt climate change was occurred around 1979 year. most of area had been eased drought. But individual drought periods were occurring at the Western Inner Mongolian region from 1996 to now. Moreover, there were still suffering the severe drought at the central-west Inner Mongolia and the south region of Chifeng and Tongliao.【Conclusion】The results demonstrated the SPEI could be used to identify and monitor conditions associated with a variety of drought impacts in Inner Mongolia. |
