Abstract: |
【Background】Groundwater is the crucial source of water supply in Tongzhou district, Beijing. Although groundwater of quaternary aquifers in the area has been intensively studied, research on characteristics and controlling factors of groundwater is limited.【Objective】The purpose of this paper is to deeply research characteristics and influence factors, providing essential scientific basics of exploitation and reservation of groundwater in Tongzhou district. 【Method】Given a total of 45 samples collected from within 300 meters depth of groundwater in Tongzhou district, the research analyzed the characteristics and influence factors of Quaternary groundwater with applying Piper diagram, Gibbs diagram, factor analysis and cluster analysis. 【Result】The result demonstrated that the groundwater was classified as HCO3-Ca.Mg water type in shallow groundwater and HCO3-Na water type in deep groundwater. Factor analysis extracted 4 common factors, and the cumulative variance accounted for 85.45% of the total variance. The results of cluster analysis were basically consistent with those of factor analysis.【Conclusion】Factor 1 represents the salinity factor, which is associated with weathering process of carbonate and silicate minerals. Factor 2 represents pollution factor of iron and manganese, which is associated with weathering process of minerals rich in iron and manganese. Factor 3 represents the agricultural pollution factor, which is associated with the impact of agricultural activities on groundwater. Factor 4 represents pollution factor of fluoride, which is associated with weathering process of minerals rich in fluorine and cation exchange. Moreover, Songzhuang and Yongshun locating to the north of Tongzhou district is the areas mostly affected by agricultural activities, while the weathering of carbonate minerals and silicate minerals, the weathering of minerals rich in iron and manganese, the weathering of minerals rich influoride as well as cation exchange are universal controlling factors in Tongzhou district. |
