Spatial-temporal Differentiation of Water Purification Services inBeipanjiang River Basin based on InVEST model

Abstract:
Abstract:【Background and objective】Water quality purification service plays an important role in ensuring water quality in the whole basin and has great significance to sustainable economic and social development healthy.This paper analyzed the temporal and spatial variation of water purification function and its influencing factors by dynamic simulation of TN and TP output in Beipanjiang River Basin, so as to provide scientific basis for water pollution control and water ecological restoration measures.【Method】It modeled the spatial distribution of TN and TP output in 2000, 2010 and 2020 with the support of GIS technology and based on InVEST model ecological service water quality purification module.【Result】The results show that the total output of TN and TP in 2000, 2010 and 2020 has little change, but there are significant differences in spatial distribution.both the minimum and maximum values of TN output per unit area were distributed in 2010, which were 1.51 kg/hm2 and 5.21 kg/hm2, respectively, with a difference of more than 3 times; The total output of TN is more than 8000/t year, and decreased by 120.76t in the past 20 years. The total TP output is more than 1200/t year, with a total decrease of 5.45t in the past 20 years, indicating that the water purification service function of the watershed ecosystem has a gradual trend of improvement in the past 20 years. TN and TP high output areas are mainly distributed in the upper and middle reaches of Beipanjiang River basin and around urban areas, while low output areas are mainly distributed in flat areas of the lower reaches.【Conclusion】Excessive N and P nutrients that are not absorbed and transformed in the fertilization process of cultivated land, while the domestic and production sewage in urban areas are the main factors leading to the deterioration of water purification function in the basin, which are also the important source of non-point source pollution. In addition,the changes to the climate and land use were the main factors which led to the changes of water purification services in beipanjiang river basin.
