【Objective】The paper studied the relationship between soil particle fractal dimension and soil fertility, to provide a theoretical basis for soil particle fractal dimension as a comprehensive index to evaluate the soil fertility in coastal saline soil.【Method】The 0-100cm soil profiles of four land use types (tidal flat, paddy, orchard and vegetable soils) in Shangyu County, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province were selected to measure the fractal dimension, pH, EC, soil nutrients and enzyme activities by using fractal theory. The relationship between soil particle fractal dimension, soil particle composition and soil fertility was discussed.【Result】The results showed that the soil particle fractal dimension in the study area is mainly between 2 ~ 3; The soil particle fractal dimensions in paddy, orchard and vegetable soils were significantly higher than that in tidal flat soil; The land use types affected the content and distribution of particle composition in soil profile (P<0.05), and then affected the particle fractal dimension in soil profiles; The fractal dimension of soil particles is the highest in 0-20cm soil layer in newly reclaimed castal saline soil and paddy soil, however, it is the highest in 80-100cm soil layer in orchard soil and vegetable garden soil. There is a significant correlation between soil particle fractal dimension and soil fertility (P<0.01); Alkali hydrolyzable nitrogen, total nitrogen, available phosphorus and urease contributed the most to the soil particles fractal dimension. |
