Abstract: |
【Objective】The purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of 6-BA on growth and endogenous chemical signals of maize seedlings under partial irrigation.【Method】Three irrigation methods and 10 mg/L 6-BA were adopted, including no water stress control treatment (normal irrigation, CK), partial water supply after uniform water supply in the early stage (partial water deficit, PD), partial water supply after uniform water supply in the early stage +6-BA(PDT), partial rehydration after uniform water stress in the early stage (partial rehydration, PR) and partial rehydration after uniform water stress in early stage+6-BA (PRT).【Result】Compared with CK, PD treatment significantly increased root dry weight at water supply side, aboveground dry weight and leaf area of maize seedlings, but it was not conducive to the growth of root dry weight at water deficit side. At the same time, it increased the contents of zeatin (ZA), nitrate nitrogen (NO3-) and soluble protein (Cpr) in leaves, roots at water supply side and xylem juice, and decreased the content of abscisic acid (ABA). PR significantly reduced the dry weight of roots on both sides, the dry weight of aboveground parts and leaf area of maize seedlings, and also reduced the contents of ZA, NO3- and Cpr in leaves, roots on both sides and xylem sap, and increased the content of ABA. Compared with PD and PR, PDT and PRT increased the dry weight of roots on both sides, the dry weight of shoots and the leaf area of maize seedlings, and the contents of ZA, NO3- and Cpr in different growing parts, while reducing the ABA content in different parts, which was beneficial to strengthen the compensatory growth of maize as a whole.【Conclusion】Partial water deficit treatment after full irrigation in the early stage is more conducive to stimulating the compensatory growth of maize. At the same time, spraying 6-BA on the basis of partial irrigation can strengthen the overall compensatory growth effect of maize seedlings, and each chemical signal has different regulating effects on the growth and development of maize. |
