Abstract: |
【Objective】The objective is to explore the variations of WUE and its influencing factors in the SRYR.【Method】Based on MODIS remote sensing data, we quantitatively estimated the ecosystem WUE in the SRYR from 2000 to 2014. Then we investigated the spatial-temporal dynamics of ecosystem WUE and examined its underlying drivers, using trend analysis and correlation analysis.【Result】The mean annual WUE showed an increasing trend from west to east, with the average value of 0.59 ± 0.35 gC/(m2·mm) in the SRYR during 2000 and 2014. WUE showed a non-significant increasing trend (p > 0.05) during the study period. The proportion of areas with significant increases in WUE was 30.29%, mainly distributed in the western and northern parts of the SRYR, with the main cover types being medium and low coverage grassland and farmland. The significant spatial variability was found in the sensitivity of WUE to hydrothermal factors and leaf area index.【Conclusion】In the context of climate warming and wetting, vegetation improvement in medium and low coverage grasslands had a more significant enhancement of WUE. |
