Development of Automatic Flow Measurement System for Airfoil-shaped-pier Measuring Sluice

Abstract:
【Background】Water measurement in irrigated areas is a basic and key technology to promote the development of water-saving agriculture and improve the utilization rate of irrigation water. Automation of water measuring in canal system is one of the key technologies for modernization of irrigated areas. Along with the continuous development of the reform of water-saving and modernization in large and medium-sized irrigated areas, the water quantity technology of trunk branch canals in irrigated areas is relatively mature and the flow measurement facility is perfect. However, due to the large number and complex types of canals, the water quantity facility construction is not high and the automation monitoring degree is low, so it is highly significant to develop automatic water quantity technology of independent small channels.【Objective】To develop automatic flow measurement facilities and systems suitable for small rectangular channels, analyze flow measurement principle, establish flow formula, and realize automatic flow measurement.【Method】In this paper, an automatic flow measurement system of airfoil-shaped sluice gate is proposed by combining the airfoil-shaped measuring flume with the flat gate. Through the hydraulic performance test, the flow characteristics under different flow and gate opening are analyzed. With STC89C51RC as the core, the automatic flow measuring system is developed, including flow measuring facilities, data processing and communication facilities and power facilities. 【Result】The threshold of judging the outflow of gate and weir flow of airfoil gate pier was 0.77~0.82. The free outflow and submerged outflow were judged by the submergent degree of the gate under different gate opening, and the flow formulas of gate outflow and weir flow were established. Using ultrasonic sensing technology to obtain water level, gate opening and other information, automatic control and communication facilities are developed with STC89C51RC as the core, and a built-in flow calculation module is written to collect and output channel flow in real time. Photovoltaic facilities are used to power the system.【Conclusion】The automatic flow measuring system of airfoil gate pier has high accuracy, which can provide reference for automatic flow measuring of small rectangular channels in irrigation area.
