Design and Experiment of Measurement and Control Gate System in Irrigation Districts

Abstract:
Intensive and efficient utilization of water resources is a key link in the modernization of irrigation areas in China. As a general hydraulic structure, sluice plays an important role in the allocation of water resources in irrigation areas. In order to realize the intelligent control of open channel water transmission and distribution in irrigation area, an intelligent open channel flat gate system based on Internet of things and PLC is developed by using the technologies of mechanical design and manufacturing, automatic control, sensor detection and Internet of things. The system is mainly composed of local measurement and control integrated gate terminal and Internet of things remote monitoring system. By using the open channel flow measurement theory and sensing measurement technology, the measurement of channel water level, gate opening and gate flow is realized; As the opening and closing transmission mechanism of the flat gate, the symmetrical double gear rack improves the reliability and energy efficiency of the gate opening and closing movement; A PLC based terminal controller for measuring and controlling the gate is developed, which realizes the automatic control and wireless communication of the local gate terminal; The gate remote monitoring platform software based on Internet of things technology is developed to realize the gate remote monitoring and engineering data management. The test results show that the system realizes the intelligent remote control of the canal gate, the gate terminal performance is stable, and has the characteristics of high measurement accuracy, strong stability and convenient operation and maintenance. It is suitable for the accurate control of the water transmission and distribution process of small and medium-sized channels in the irrigation area.
