Abstract:
Abstract:【Objective】To establish an irrigation schedule for alfalfa grassland under shallow subsurface drip irrigation in Hulunbeier area.【Method】Alfalfa Long Mu 806 was used as the research object, and five different treatments with the soil matrix potential thresholds at the depth of 10 cm directly below the emitter were -10, -20, -30, -40 kPa and -50 kPa, to study the effects of different soil matrix potentials on soil moisture distribution, alfalfa growth, fresh grass yield and irrigation water use efficiency.【Result】Under shallow subsurface drip irrigation conditions, controlling the soil matrix potential at a depth of 10 cm directly below the emitter can significantly affect the spatial distribution of soil moisture, when the higher the soil matrix potential threshold was, the higher the soil water content in the 0~30 cm soil layer was. The plant height and fresh grass yield of alfalfa increased first and then decreased with the decrease of soil matrix potential, and the highest plant height and fresh grass yield were gotten when the soil matrix potential was -20 kPa.The average irrigation water use efficiency of alfalfa increased with the decrease of soil matrix potential, and the highest irrigation water use efficiency was achieved when the soil matrix potential was -50~-40 kPa. 【Conclusion】In order to ensure the high and stable yield of alfalfa, for 1~3 years old alfalfa, the soil matrix potential threshold at the depth of 10 cm directly below the emitter under shallow subsurface drip irrigation was recommended to be -20 kPa, when the soil water holding capacity in the tillage layer was poor and the soil layer for alfalfa grow was shallow.
