Abstract:
Due to the significant correlation effect between farmland drainage system and agricultural production process, the in-depth study of relevant issues have a great theoretical significance for further development in the efficient utilization of agricultural water and soil resources. As a typical field hydrological drainage model, DRAINMOD is widely used in farmland production research, and it has a strength of less parameters required in the simulation process, fitness of simulating the process of farmland drainage, salt migration, nitrogen loss and non-point source pollution over a long time series. This paper expounds a basic principle of DRAINMOD and several commonly used analysis modules and requirements parameters. On this basis, the development and improvement process of the model were reviewed from the practical application direction of the model. The main differences between the models in field drainage process analysis were compared such as SWAP, Mike-she, MODFLOW, HYDRUS, EPIC, RECHARGE, RECARGE and SWMM. Worldwide applications of the DRAINMOD model in various research fields in recent years is also reviewed. These applications mainly include simulating farmland drainage and drainage system optimization, salt movement, nitrogen loss, non-point source pollution prevention and control, hydrological cycle process in urban rain garden and model sensitivity analysis. Finally, some key scientific issues based on the current research situation were purposed in the applied research. And this study provides practical guidance for the further improvement of DRAINMOD and efficient application in farmland production.
