Abstract:
【Objective】Applicability of different formulas used to estimate the evapotranspiration of Bamboo and Eucalyptus were evaluated to understand the difference of the water behavior of two plants. 【Method】Based on the measured evapotranspiration of potted Bamboo and Eucalyptus using weighing method and calculated evapotranspiration with conventional meteorological observation data, 9 estimation formulas were modified by linear regression, the improvement effects of different formulas were evaluated, and the evapotranspiration differences of two plants was analyzed in this study. 【Results】① The accuracy of Bamboo evapotranspiration estimated using the Jensen-Haise, Hargreaves 1975, and Doorenbos-Pruitt methods was relatively high before the modification, and the evapotranspiration of the eucalyptus estimated by the FAO Penman-Monteith, Hargreaves19785, and Jensen-Haise methods was close to the actual measurement; the modified reference evapotranspiration Formulas can significantly improve the estimation accuracy of actual evapotranspiration; ② It was shown that Eucalyptus evapotranspiration is significantly larger up to 38% than that of Bamboo; ③ The sensitivity of 9 formulas to meteorological elements in turn is Turc, Abtew, Makkink, Hargreaves 1985, Priestley-Taylor, Doorenbos and Pruitt, Hargreaves 1975, Jensen-Haise, FAO Penman-Monteith, and its applicability in Northern Guangxi is the opposite order; ④The sensitivity of the water consumption of Eucalyptus to the change of meteorological factors is more than that of Bamboo. 【Conclusion】The accuracy of the estimation formulas can be improved effectively by modification and these modified formulas can be used to reveal the sensitivity of the evapotranspiration of two plants on the meteorological factors. The research results can provide scientific basis for regional ecological protection, water resources evaluation, and forestry planning.
