Design of a sediment discharge gallery for a hydropower station

Abstract:
The riverbed of a hydropower station is narrow, and the sediment concentration of the incoming flow is large.It is very important to choose a sediment discharge building with good sand discharge effect and reasonable layout. First of all, with the layout of the project and the overall hydraulic model test of the sand discharge effect, the sediment discharge gallery under the inlet and the sediment discharge bottom outlet on the left are optimized. Then, The hydraulic flow calculation is used to determine the flow cross-section and bifurcated pipe type of the gallery, and the large scale hydraulic model test is used to select the bifurcated pipe and aeration effect of the square cross-section with better hydraulic conditions Better differential aerator and adjust the bottom slope of gallery. The research results can be used as reference for similar projects.
