Abstract:
【Background】【Objective】The objective is to investigate the effect of vegetation restoration on deep soil moisture in the loess hilly region.【Method】The soil water content and deep water consumption (300cm~1000cm) of sloping farmland, grassland and jujube forest in the small watershed of Yuanzegou watershed in the loess hilly region were studied by using outdoor survey and indoor survey..【Result】(1) In the 0-1000cm profile, the soil water content was jujube orchard < grassland < sloping farmland. In 0-200cm soil layer, the soil water content of sloping farmland, grassland and jujube orchard increased first and then decreased, with an average value of 11.91%, 11.23% and 9.99%, respectively. From 300cm to 1000cm, soil water content decreased slowly and tended to be stable, with an average value of 11.80%, 11.72% and 10.05%, respectively. (2) From 300cm to 1000cm, the soil water storage was in slope farmland > grassland >jujube orchard, with the mean values of 149.23mm, 146.22mm and 121.91mm, respectively. The soil water storage of sloping farmland and grassland was significantly higher than that of jujube forest (P <0.05), but there was no significant difference between sloping farmland and grassland.(3) In the 300cm-1000cm profile, the deep soil water consumption of jujube orchard was significantly higher than that of grassland (P <0.05). The water consumption of jujube forest ranged from 21.67mm to 32.97mm, with an average of 27.39mm, and that of grassland ranged from -4.47mm to 10.32mm, with an average of 3.07mm.(4) The deep soil moisture content is positively correlated with clay, weakly negatively with sand, and positively and weakly correlated with organic carbon content.【Conclusion】The deep soil consumption in jujube orchard was significantly higher than that in grassland. Although the soil water consumption of grassland also occurs in deep soil, but the consumption is very low.
