Abstract:
【Background】The situation of water resources in China is serious, especially the over-exploitation of water resources in the north, which restricts the sound development of social economy.【Objective】Groundwater resources are important resources related to ecological security and social security in arid and semi-arid regions. Reasonable planning and sustainable development and utilization are the prerequisites for the harmonious coexistence of man and nature and the stable development of regional socio-economics. 【Method】In this study, the Jinghe River Basin was selected as the research object, the SWAT distributed hydrological model was used to simulate the runoff, and the Jingchuan (3) station, Yangjiaping (2) station, and Zhangjiashan (2) station were used to measure the monthly runoff as model parameters. Based on the calibration, a preliminary evaluation was made on the distribution characteristics of shallow groundwater, underground phreatic reserves, and recoverable amounts in the Jinghe River Basin. 【Result】The model in the study area performed well, with R2 and NS reaching 0.83 and 0.71, respectively, which met the simulation requirements. The distribution of underground phreatic reserves in the basin is quite different, and the phreatic reservoir reserves have declined severely. During the seven years from 2009 to 2016, the decline was about 6.59 billion m3, and the rate of decline was 0.051 billion m3/month. The evaluation results of groundwater resources show that the average recharge of the Jinghe River Basin is 0.344 billion m3/a, the average underground runoff modulus is 0.21 L/s·km2, and the overall extractable volume is 0.189 billion m3/a. 【Conclusion】SWAT model has good evaluation effect and accuracy in groundwater resource evaluation. The evaluation results provide simulation methods and hydrogeological parameters support for the groundwater resources evaluation in the Jinghe River Basin.
