Abstract:
【Background】In order to investigate and compare the effects of straw and biochar addition on soil phosphorus content and Olsen-P content, a typical paddy soil was collected to carried out an 30 days indoor incubation experiment. 【Methods】Dry land and paddy field were simulated by controlling soil water content. For each land use type, five treatments were set including high amount of biochar (BC2), low amount of biochar (BC1), high amount of straw (SC2), low amount of straw (SC1) and no addition (CK). Phosphorus fractions was classified by Hedley phosphorus speciation method, the content of Olsen-P and other soil physicochemical indexes were also meansured at the same time. 【Result】 In dryland soil, biochar addition increased the content of Olsen-P with the amount of increase ranges from 1.78 to 1.46 mg/kg, and straw addition increased the content of Olsen-P with the amount of increase ranges from 4.46 to 1.72 mg/kg, respectively. In paddy field soil, adding biochar increased soil Olsen-P content with the amount of increase ranges from 22.42 to 12.04 mg/kg, and adding straw increased soil Olsen-P content with the amount of increase ranges from 6.37 to 4.27 mg/kg, respectively. The phosphorus fractionation results showed that the phosphorus components in each treatment were quite different, and the phosphorus components displayed a pattern in order of HCl-P>NaOH-P>NaHCO3-P>H2O-P. In terms of soil physicochemical indexes, the addition of biochar increased soil pH, total nitrogen (TN), soluble organic carbon (DOC) and organic carbon (SOC) content. The addition of straw increased soil total phosphorus (TP), DOC and SOC contents. Furthermore, in the biochar treated soil, the content of Olsen-P was significantly positively correlated with the content of H2O-P, NaHCO3-P, SOC and NH4+-N; in the straw treated soil, the content of Olsen-P was significantly positively correlated with the content of NaOH-P, HCl-P, TN and NH4+-N. 【Conclusion】we can conclude that biochar and straw addition promote the accumulation of Olsen-P in the soil mainly by affecting the content of soil pH, TN and SOC, and change the soil phosphorus components at the same time, thereby improving the level and ability of soil phosphorus supply.
