Research of the Effects of Different Treatments on the Growth of Summer Maize and the Adaptability of AquaCrop Model in Tianjin

Abstract:
【Objective】 To explore the effects of different treatments on summer maize growth and AquaCrop model adaptability in Tianjin. 【Methods】 Four test treatments were set: Conventional drip irrigation 10 mm (N1) and 20 mm (N2), under-film drip irrigation 10 mm (M1) and 20 mm (M2), the effects of different conditions on the growth of summer maize were studied; AquaCrop model was verified with two-year experimental data; yield under different irrigation schemes in average year was predicted through verified model, and optimal irrigation scheme was selected with the goal of maximum yield. 【Results】 The SWC of 0~40 cm soil layers under N2 treatment are higher than that of N1 and M2 treatment; biomass and yield under each treatment are as follows: M2>M1>N2>N1; R2, EF and RMSE of simulated and measured SWC values of each treatment are 0.645~0.907, 0.461~0.779 and 0.021~0.034 respectively; R2, EF and RMSE of simulated and measured canopy coverage are 0.942~0.992, 0.964~0.990 and 0.463~0.781 respectively; R2, EF and RMSE of simulated and measured biomass are 0.959~0.984, 0.969~0.986 and 0.507~0.614 t/hm2 respectively; RMSE of simulated and measured yield are 0.180~0.890 t/hm2, RMSE of simulated and measured water use efficiency are 0.001~0.003 t/hm2/mm. 【Conclusion】 Under conventional drip irrigation, the SWC of 0~40 cm soil layer can be improved by high water treatment, and the SWC of 0~40 cm soil layer under conventional treatment is higher than that under film mulching treatment when irrigation is 20 mm; Both film mulching and high water treatment can improve the biomass and yield of summer maize,, and AquaCrop model can better adapt to the growth simulation of summer maize in Tianjin; The optimal irrigation scheme is 20 mm at seedling stage, 10 mm at heading stage and filling stage.
