Abstract:
【Objective】 To explore the effect of biochar application on soil nutrients in water-saving irrigated paddy fields, and provide technical guidance for improving soil fertility and scientifically formulating water and carbon regulation strategies. 【Method】Controlled irrigation was used in the experiment, and four biochar application levels were set at 0, 10, 20 and 40 t/hm2, which were recorded as CK, CL, CM and CH treatments, to analyze the change characteristics of biochar application on soil nutrients in water-saving irrigated paddy fields at different growth stages and after fertilization.【Result】The contents of soil organic matter and organic carbon were CH>CM>CL>CK after applied of biochar. Compared with CK treatments, CH, CM and CL treatments increased by 1.52, 0.61 and 0.39g/kg in 2018, and decreased by 2.01, 1.71 and 0.99g/kg in 2019, respectively. After tillering fertilizer was applied, the increasing rate of ammonium nitrogen content in paddy soil was the fastest in CK treatment, while the increasing rate was similar in CH, CM and CL treatments. After spike fertilizer was applied, the increasing rate of soil ammonium nitrogen content was similar in 2018, and the increasing rate was CK>CL>CM>CH in 2019. The results of the two-year experiment showed that the soil nitrate nitrogen content in CH, CM and CL treatments decreased 32.34, 19.45 and 9.21% in rice season compared with CK treatment.【Conclusion】The increasing effect of biochar application on soil organic matter and organic carbon content in water-saving irrigated paddy fields was positively correlated with the biochar application amount, and decreased with the growth of rice. Fresh biochar increased the content of ammonium nitrogen in paddy soil, while aged biochar had the opposite effect. Application of biochar reduced soil nitrate nitrogen content in water-saving irrigated paddy fields, and there was a negative correlation between soil nitrate nitrogen content and application amount of biochar. Application of biochar could slow down the increase rate of ammonium nitrogen content in paddy soil after fertilization to a certain extent, and had a positive effect on the control of nitrogen loss in paddy soil during the critical period after fertilization.
