Abstract: |
We investigated the impact of irrigation schedule and drought on dry-matter accumulation in Heinong 48 soybean using pot experiments under combinations of four irrigation schedules and four drought treatments. The results showed that the growth of leaf, stem, root and pod of the soybean was strongly affected by duration of the drought occurring at the pod stage, and that the shorter the drought lasted, the better soybean could recover. In comparison with drought, the impact of the amount of irrigation on the soybean was insignificant. We also found that the impact of the combination of high irrigation amount and long-lasting drought is similar to the effect of low irrigation combined with short-lasting drought. |
