Abstract: |
Taking oil sunflower as the model plant, we comparatively studied the impact of subsurface pipe drain and non-pip drain on soil desalination and water use efficiency of the plant. The experiment was conducted in Miaotai, Huinongin Ningxia and the drained water was pumped using solar-powered pumps. During the experiment, we measured soil salinity, change of groundwater table, as well as the yield. The results showed that, compared with non-pipe drain, in the area controlled by the subsurface pipe drain, the groundwater table dropped by 0.09 m, salt content in groundwater decreased by 9.79, soil salinity decreased by 13.64%, and the yield increased by 8.10%. In addition, it increased the water productivity by 8.40% and the water production efficiency by 9.86%. |
