Abstract: |
The spatio-temporal variations of temperature and precipitation in Huangshui Basin within Qinghai Province were analyzed in this paper using the precipitation and temperature measured daily over 1959 to 2006 from 13 meteorological stations in the basin. The analysis was based on the Mann-Kendall mutation test, wavelet and other methods. The results showed that the precipitation within a single year varied considerably, increasing in spring and winter and decreasing in summer and autumn. Annually, the precipitation decreased at a rate of 2.13 mm/10 a over this period. Both annual meanand monthly mean temperatures increased at a rate of 0.348 ℃/10 a. The precipitation and temperature were spatially heterogenous, with the precipitation in northwest and southeast less than that in the central region, and the average temperature increasing from northwest to southeast. There was a steadily change in precipitation in 2001. Annual precipitation had three cycles, one was 3 a, and other two were 8 a and 15 a respectively. The average annual temperature had four cycles: 25 a, 8 a, 15 a and 3 a. |
