Abstract:
【Objective】 Keeping aqueducts in healthy status in an irrigation district is impetus to ensure their service; the purpose of this paper is to present a method to assess aqueduct health. 【Method】 A hierarchical system was established to assess aqueducts based on their functions. We divided the assessment into several levels and proposed health criteria for each level. The weight for the factors associated with each level was calculated using the method of hierarchical analysis. Based on data measured from engineering projects, we estimated the subordinate index using statistical methods, and calculated the health levels of the aqueduct using the principle of maximum membership.【Result】A comprehensive fuzzy assessment model was established to diagnose aqueduct health and it was then successfully applied to help repair and reinforce deteriorated aqueducts. 【Conclusion】 The model proposed in this paper is feasible for evaluating aqueducts health, and it can be used as a reference to help diagnose different types of aqueducts.
