Abstract: |
【Objective】 Irrigation schedule controls growth and quality of crops and the objective of this paper is, by taking wolfberry as an example, to investigate how its growth and fruit quality respond to the amount of drip irrigation. 【Method】 We used the varieties of Ningqi No.1, No.5, No.7, No.0901, No.0909 in the experiment, and tested five irrigation rates: 5 100 m3/hm2 (W1), 4 350 m3/hm2(W2), 3 600 m3/hm2(W3), 2 850 m3/hm2(W4), 2 100 m3/hm2(W5), with conventional irrigation with 5 100 m3/hm2 as the control (CK). For each treatment, we measured plant growth, as well as the yield and quality of the fruits. 【Result】 The results showed that the effects of different drip irrigation on the growth indexes, such as plant height, stem diameter and chlorophyll SPAD and yield and quality of different wolfberry varieties were significantly. For No.1, suitable drip irrigation volume was W5 treatment. Compared with CK, the yield was significantly increased 60.71% (P<0.01). The plant height, stem diameter and chlorophyll SPAD growed rapidly, the total sugar and total acid mass fraction increased by 3.82% and 9.19%. For No.5, suitable drip irrigation volume was W5 treatment. The plant height, chlorophyll SPAD and quality were significantly increased (P<0.05) compared to CK, yield was increased 36.56%, and fruit quality was optimal. For No.7, suitable drip irrigation volume was W2 treatment. The content of betaine and total sugar was the highest, and the yield was significantly different with CK; The content of betaine, total sugar and yield increased by 36.10%, 38.71% and 6.27% compared to the average of CK and other treatments. For No.0901, suitable drip irrigation volume was W3 treatment. It effectively promoted the increase of plant height, stem diameter and chlorophyll SPAD, and the yield was increased 52.19%. For No.0909, suitable drip irrigation volume was W4 treatment. Although the indicators were not significant differences compared with CK, but the overall advantage of yield and quality was better. 【Conclusion】 Different varieties of wolfberry responde differently to irrigation amount, and choosing a suitable drip irrigation schedule for each variety can effectively improve its growth and yield, achieving water-saving and quality-improving simultaneously. |
