Abstract: |
【Objective】 This paper presents the results of the geochemical analysis of the groundwater in Horqin District of Tongliao City. 【Method】Using measured data, we analyzed the relationship between chemical composition of the groundwater and the factors that affect biogeochemical processes in the groundwater.【Result】The concentration of chemical components varied erratically over space, and they were affected by properties of the aquifer, topography, hydrometeorology and anthropological activities. The concentration of iron and manganese in the studied area exceeded the standard by more than 75%, followed by nitrite, lead and aluminum which exceeded the standard by 10%~20%. The change in TDS was consistent with the concentration of the main ions that exceeded the standard because an increase in TDS altered dissolution/precipitation of rock salt, gypsum and dolomite, as well as the adsorption/desorption of cations in the aquifers.【Conclusion】For groundwater to reach the drinking water standard in Horqin District of Tongliao City, the excessive iron and manganese need to be removed, and the concentration of nitrite, lead and aluminum also need to be attenuated. |
