Abstract: |
【Objective】 This paper aims to reveal the influence of ridge-furrow width on the yield and water use efficiency (WUE) of flax and provide bases for increasing the economic benefits of this crop.【Method】The soil moisture, flax biomass, WUE and yield of four different flax cultivating patterns, namely furrow planting with ridge film mulching in ridge-furrow width of 25 cm (R25), 35 cm (R35) and 45 cm (R45) and uncovered drilling (CK) were compared.【Result】Flax growth period shortened within 2 days in the plastic mulching treatments and the emergence rate was different among the treatments. The soil moisture gradually increased with the deepening of soil layer in both flax planting area and film-covered area. Biomass of R25, R35 increased at the beginning and then decreased through the whole stage, and reached their maximum at filling stage. The wet weight of R45 and CK reached the maximum at flowering stage, and the maximum of dry weight was at maturity stage. The WUE and yield of R25 was higher than other treatments. The WUE of R25 was 32.81% higher than CK, and the yield respectively increased by 16.67% compared with CK. 【Conclusion】Our results suggest that the width of ridge and furrow could influence the WUE and yield of flax, and the ridge-furrow width in 25 cm is optimal to improve the WUE and yield of flax. |
