Abstract: |
This paper investigated the demand for water storage forirrigation in winter. We took Linfen Irrigation District in Shanxin Province as an example and measured water infiltrations in frozen soil. We first fitted the infiltration results to the Phillip infiltration formula and obtained 120 sets of parameters, and we then linked the parameters to other easy-to-measure soil properties including soil temperature, soil organic matter, soil moisture content, soil bulk density and clay content using the multivariate nonlinear transfer function. The transfer function model could predict infiltration rate and steady infiltration rate in the Philip infiltration formula. The accuracy of the model was tested against measurements. The results showed that the errors of all predicted parameters were less than 11%. |
