Abstract: |
【Objective】 The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of cross sectional shape of concrete drain pipeline casted in-situ on its bearing capacity. 【Method】 We used the ANSYS software to simulate and analyze the bearing capability of a vertical elliptical drain pipe under designed load, and compared it with the bearing capability of a circular pipe with the same cross-sectional area. 【Result】 Vertical elliptical covered concrete pipeline with long and short axle ratios of about 1.3 could be in normal use under various design load conditions; The strength safety factor of vertical elliptical covered concrete pipeline with the same cross-section area increased by about 83% in non-irrigation period and by about 41% in irrigation period. 【Conclusion】 It is rational and feasible to use the vertical elliptical section in in-situ casting concrete drain pipeline, and it improves the bearing capacity compared to the circular ones. |
